Question 1

What should I know before a visit?

Accepted Answer

If the job needs a permit or extensive electrical or plumbing work, it is outside a small handyman visit. Send photos, clear the work area, and have the furniture or fixture on site. Gently Handy does not publish prices on this site.

Question 2

What is the difference between a contractor and a handyman?

Accepted Answer

A contractor is a licensed trade business. A handyman visit is for smaller household tasks. If the job needs a licensed trade, hire that trade.

Question 3

Do you need to be qualified to be a handyman?

Accepted Answer

Every handyman has a different set of jobs they will take. Describe the task, and Gently Handy will say whether it is a fit.

Question 4

How do I ask about a job?

Accepted Answer

Call or use the form and describe the task. Gently Handy does not list rates on this site. If the job is bigger than a small home repair, we will say so.

Question 5

Can Gently Handy do plumbing or electrical work?

Accepted Answer

A small job such as replacing a kitchen faucet can be part of a visit. Work that needs a building permit, a repipe, a water heater, or a slab leak is outside what we take on.
